Continental Math League (CML) - ASEEDER STEM Challenges

Introduction

The Continental Math League (CML) is one of the most established and respected mathematics competitions in the United States, founded in 1980 by veteran math educators Joseph Quartaro and Henry Hull. Over the past four decades, CML has inspired hundreds of thousands of students to explore the beauty and logic of mathematics beyond the classroom.

Unlike traditional competitions that focus solely on high-stakes selection, CML was designed to enrich classroom learning—encouraging problem-solving, collaboration, and critical reasoning. Today, CML connects more than 70,000 students from over 500 elementary and middle schools across the U.S. and internationally, including participants from Asia, Europe, and beyond.

Its mission is simple yet powerful: to make mathematics exciting, accessible, and rewarding for every student.
