The International Economics Olympiad (IEO) has grown into one of the world’s premier academic competitions in economics, finance, and business problem-solving. Founded in 2016 by the Institute of Economic Education (INEV) and supported by the International Olympic Academy (IOA), the Olympiad now engages nearly 150,000 students across 40+ countries each year. It not only challenges participants academically but also inspires them to think globally, work collaboratively, and pursue innovation.
This year’s IEO 2025 Global Round was hosted from August 21 – 24 in Athens, Greece, at the historic grounds of the IOA – an institution dedicated to nurturing the Olympic spirit of knowledge and international friendship. The event welcomed 130 of the brightest students from 28 countries, selected out of more than 150,000 participants worldwide.

Representing Vietnam at the Global Round were five outstanding students, chosen after two intense national selection stages:
-
Nguyen Chi Dung – High School for Gifted Students, Hanoi National University of Education
-
Nguyen Minh Anh – TH School
-
Lam Quoc Dai – Saigon South International School
-
Huynh Thi Yen Ngoc – Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted
-
